500 Visitors to UniMAP Surau Receive McDonald’s Malaysia-sponsored Moreh Packs

KANGAR 7 May – 500 visitors to Universiti Malaysia Perlis's (UniMAP) surau – mostly university students – were fortunate to receive a moreh package sponsored by McDonald’s Malaysia after their Tarawikh prayers yesterday.

The Head of McDonald’s Kangar, Mohd Khairul Azwan Mastudi, said that more than 500 packs of McChickens, Apple Pies and orange cordials were distributed as part of McDonald's corporate social responsibility to establish close ties with university students.

He added that the programme also enabled the surau congregation, especially among the less fortunate, to enjoy the special dishes that the fast food restaurant provided and will be continued at UniMAP on May 14th and 21st.

Meanwhile, UniMAP Vice Chancellor Dato' Prof. Dr. Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal said that McDonald's Malaysia is among the companies that always provide sponsorship to support UniMAP's activities including innovation and robotics activities.

He explained that besides the moreh sponsorship in Ramadan, McDonald's has also agreed to sponsor the University Robot Competition (URoCK) which is scheduled to take place this September.
“In the competition that involves participants from Higher Education Institutes (IPT) across the country, there is a category that requires participants to build robotic drones that could handle McDonald's food delivery process.

“It will definitely be interesting times now that fast food restaurateurs are fully supporting food delivery technology development and we hope it will be realised in the era of Industry 4.0 revolution,” he said.
