The New Chairman of UniMAP meets the Chancellor

Kangar : 16 October 2018 – Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAPTemp files), His Royal Highness Tuanku Raja Muda Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail has met the new chairman of Lembaga Pengarah Universiti (LPU), Datuk Prof. Emeritus Dr. Kamarudin Hussin for the first time.

The chancellor was briefed on the university's direction and strategic planning to move together to enhance UniMAP's glory.


Also present was UniMAP’s vice-chancellor, Dato’ Prof. Dr. Zul Azhar Zahir Jamal and the university’s main officers.

Datuk Prof. Emeritus Dr. Kamarudin Hussin was appointed as the Chairman of UniMAP for a period of three years with effect from October 2018 until September 2021 to replace Dato' Mohd Sofi Osman.

For the record, he started as the Rector at Kolej Universiti Kejuruteraan Utara Malaysia (KUKUM) in 2002 before being appointed as the Vice-Chancellor after KUKUM was branded as UniMAP in 2007.

Datuk Prof. Emeritus Dr. Kamarudin Hussin retired in 2016 after leading the university for 14 years and was among the longest serving Vice-Chancellors in Malaysia.
