The intention of sharing ocean’s beauty with the less fortunate has made three students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Derma the overall champion (Best Of The Best) for Perlis Makers Day 2017.
The product, named Bild Ozean or the ocean image, is the invention of Shautul Wafie Arizal, 13, Nur Wafaa Aqilah Mohd Ridzuan, 14 and Nur Hidayatul Akma Badri 14 and it allows ocean images to be recorded using a camera placed on the device.
The group leader, Shautul Wafie Arizal said that the idea of creating such product was inspired by his own passion for the view of the sea.
"The idea was then presented to mentors from the University of Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and they have agreed to assist the invention of this product as a medium to share the beauty of marine life images with the less fortunate.
"We are very grateful to our teachers and mentors for their assistance which contributed to our product being successful today," he added when interviewed after the Prize Giving Ceremony for the 2017 Perlis Makers Day, here recently.
