Dr. Mohd Rashidi said that the Hybrid Wireless-Fiber FCC OCDMA he developed by with his co-researchers provides high speed internet access by low-cost users.

He added that this integration between wireless and fibre-optics has the potential to dynamically enhance high-speed networks which is also environmentally friendly.

“This system offers great mobility and can provide stable bandwidth for a number of applications like Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) in rural areas, high-speed trains, the Internet of Things (IoT) and oil and gas industry applications,” he said in a statement here today.

SIIF is the largest invention exhibition in the world for inventors and researchers to show off their new ideas and products to manufacturers, investors, distributors, licensing companies and the public.

It is organised by the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and supported internationally by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and the International Federation of Inventors' Association (IFIA).
