Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ruslinda binti A. Rahim received the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) majoring in Nanoscience and Nanoengineering from Waseda University, Tokyo Japan in September 2012. She also received M. Eng and B. Eng degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Muroran Institute of Technology, Japan in 2007 and 2002, respectively. Currently, she is a Director at National Nanotechnology Centre (NNC) under Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI). She is also a research fellow in Institute of Nano Electronic Engineering (INEE), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). She is the recipient of Loreal-UNESCO For Women in Science 2013, Malaysia, the MASS Potential Young Researcher Award 2016, the Royal Society-Newton Award in 2016. She was appointed as a Visiting Professor at Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic. She is the first researcher in Malaysia to merge engineering and medical field that has successfully contribute towards the early detection of HIV-1 Tat protein via solution gate field effect transistor for the benefits of nation. Her research interests include carbon-based materials on surface chemistry, DNA and protein biosensors, nanomaterials, nanoelectronics and nanodevices. She also active in several societies such as a registered board of Engineers Malaysia, Senior member of IEEE, Committee member of Malaysia Nanotechnology Association and Committee member of Malaysia Sensor Association.
