The Engineering Centre is located within the Kuala Perlis Industrial Complex. It was established to manage laboratories and workshops which are vitally needed for various engineering programs offered by UNIMAP. As stated previously, the teaching-learning approach practised in UNIMAP is essentially practical-oriented, hence the use of labs cannot be overemphasised.
Besides managing laboratories and workshop, the Engineering centre also support research and development activities in UniMAP. It also aspires to be a centre for designing and creating innovative engineering products.
The Engineering centre provides laboratories and workshop such as PCB Fabfrication Lab, Microprocessor Technology Lab, CAD/CAM Lab, Computer Lab, Electrical Wiring Workshop, Mechanical Workshop, Teaching Factory Lab. It also offers facilities for courses which require training and technical skills, parallel to industry standard. It also offers ‘teaching factory’ concept that is based on industry’s advanced technology, facilities and condusive environment for research and development activities, and training for students and members of staff.
