ANJUNG UniMAP KULIM

Based on extensive industry feedback suggests that UniMAP opened an office campus in the nearby areas of Penang, it is desirable UniMAP positive response to the needs of the industry. This is also consistent with the practices of universities such as Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) which was set up branch offices respectively. Strategic location near a variety of industries in the north of Peninsular Malaysia is suitable for consideration by the administration UniMAP, in addition to the already established cooperation between UniMAP, the management of the Kulim High Technology Park and the industries in the surrounding area. Apart from the problem space UniMAP the industry, which is one of the key stakeholders and customers the university, this office is also expected to serve as a leading training center in the future, contribute to the development of human capital of the Northern Corridor and a main source of income generation of UniMAP.

 
Anjung UniMAP Kulim is the second representative office established outside of its main campus, Perlis. Anjung UniMAP Kulim operates in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kulim, Kedah. The opening ceremony was officiated by UniMAP Chancellor, who is also Raja Muda Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalulai. Present together, Raja Puan Muda Perlis, Tuanku Lailatul Shareen Akashah Khaleel, the Pro Chancellor of UniMAP. Anjung UniMAP Kulim was inaugurated on February 2, 2010. We hope that Anjung UniMAP Kulim can foster corporation with the industry in the vicinity of Kulim, Pulau Pinang and South Kedah. This office will be coordinating the operations of the convention center and industrial coorperation, promotion and also short courses. And it will be monitored by the CIC, UniMAP.

BACKGROUND

 
System at the University Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and engineering-based approach based on "intensive lab" is one that requires some unique requirements. As practiced in developed countries, the activities of enrichment teaching and learning-oriented industries are one of the main features. However, UniMAP location far from major industrial areas such as Penang and Southern Kedah provides a challenge to the close cooperation that can more closely woven with a variety of industries. To overcome these problems, the establishment of an office, UniMAP in Kulim High Technology Park is a must. This office will be coordinating the operations of the convention center and industrial cooperation, promotion and short courses UniMAP to be operated by the Centre for Industrial Cooperation (CIC).
